The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) recognized Rampart’s contribution to the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant Repair project. The Carson, California project, completed by J. F. Shea Construction, received the award for “Excellence in the Repair of Municipal Structures”. Rampart designed and built multiple hydrodemolition robots specifically for this project. The project spanned over 4 phases and each phase was 4 months long. There was an additional 40 day phase that required nearly Rampart’s entire equipment fleet to complete on time. The work included floor, wall and overhead hydrodemolition and hand lance work. Concrete removal was also done in an 18’ diameter tunnel where Rampart’s custom designed and built Tunnel Master was used. The Tunnel Master used a rotating arm to remove the concrete inside the circumference of the tunnel. A total of 1,750,000 SF of surface area was prepared for shotcrete.
